If you have at least one speed trait, he's trivial to kill. Less chance of stunlock from lightning. There's a dead mi-go next to him too, so fucked irf I know what the deal is. He's in cultist faction, so they shouldn't be fighting. D:
I returned to camp, free to further the basic work of survival and examine what all I've found raiding the floating temple. The priest it seemed was wielding one of their lightning weapons, a golden emblem with 3 prongs. As for the sword, I can't help but get a bad feeling just being near it. Whereas that golden weapon was easily destroyed, the sword seems to be beyond my ability.
I'm also worried about this sword possibly falling into the wrong hands. My little makeshift campsite is rather exposed. In addition to securing food, I might work on fortifying it to some extent, enough to hinder intruders to a degree. Being near the road has given me the benefit of seeing roaming revenants before they get too close, but might expose me if any survivors travel this way.
For now though, I sought to follow the road, and confirming my suspisions, I see the edge of a town not that far west of the river. I could use supplies, tools, and information. Even in the time before I initiated my quest, I never strayed too close to the towns, and we mainly just followed the rivers. It's how I knew to retrace my steps and find the crater.
The city is large, infested with revenants and even a few monsters. As such, I stick to the edge of the town, using the houses to my advantage. Even then there are a few stragglers, along with a small group of peculair undead, enveloped in living shadows.
Ultimately, my brief incursion into the edge of town yields a few useful materials, but not much. Narrowly evaded some form of flying drone that seemed to be attracted by an alarm I set off during one of my intrusions, but that proved helpful for distracting the few undead that followed me.
