Hnnng, must I triple post? Triple the forum heresy. Editing to world settings to set season length to 14 makes this feel a lot less daunting, but I can tweak it back to 30 after however this ends.
It is late into summer, and I have largely just been tending to my camp and further securing supplies. I've secured some books to read and study as well, but something else troubles me. I have been reluctant to track down the blood mages, but I know they have a hideout close to the floating temple. If I intend to solve the mystery of that strange sword, I need to track them down.
If I'm lucky, it'll also be good to get out of this heat. I've no comfortable substitute for my current gear.
Soon though, I'm in sight of what appears to be the place. Bordering more sweltering swamps, a lone oasis blighted by their temple built in the center of it. And lingering in the area, more assorted inhuman things. Once again, only the flying monstrosity is a major concern.
I stand corrected. That human mimicry put up a good fight, and the area overall seems to be extremely hectic. There is an immense cacophony of violence going on from deeper inside the structure, and these monsters are hazard enough as it is. But I have one advantage I lacked last time I clashed with the flying monsters.
Screenshot:My studies of our order's tome led me to understand some of our rituals. Enough to work a mask into the image of the divine, and grant it the power of sight beyond sight. The blast of my hammer still rings in my ears, but the mask's power wards my sight, and I can see to press the advantage. Each time the flash staggers and disorients this monster, preventing it from playing hit-and-run.
