Alright guys this one's been a long time coming, and sadly it has to begin with our newest member being the Catalyst. To preface this before I go on with this; I've made plenty of mistakes with this RP gig in the past, I've pissed off a few people, I went total meltdown and hurt people (especially you Wilson, I don't remember if I apologized before, but I am deeply sorry), and I with the help of you guys effectively destroyed and took half of some obscure indie games people with or without us due to some PC-Bullsh!tlery that we all pretty much despise.

But to stay on topic for the creamy nougat of RP chat:

Telsa: Listen kiddo you got a ton of great ideas and people are comparing you to me, I know its hard to remain focused on one thing for long and I know that people constantly criticizing your work 24/7 is really grating and demeaning (because that was my whole Freshmen year in a nutshell). But you need to slow down, take it from the guy who nearly turned their "average joe" into an action hero, and then wrote a page of gunnoises because I didn't know how the fcuk to RP combat. I like your ideas, I think your demon character is better suited to Divom or as a character in The Highway or something equally silly; but the people here take their RP really-really seriously, I mean I threw the (aforementioned) fit because The Highway got derailed THE FCUKING HIGHWAY OF ALL THINGS!

Some of the RPs here (like Sunken Harbors) are serious RPs focused more on humanity, characters, and personality. You don't have to be a 12-armed robo-demon with a BFG for nipples to be cool and interesting. You could be a drunken nudist that fights with a pole and still not be interesting. However if you were a drunken nudist that has a dark and violent past as a slave that saw his family get brutally murdered by a fancy clothes wearing aristocrat, you'd be A-okay! (DON'T TAKE THE SUGGESTION TO HEART I CAN'T DO CHARACTERS!)

Other then that you have great ideas, and if you had an RP up I'd join it in a heartbeat to see a new mindset then the old guards usual stuff. You got potential, some would say too much potential, but I like the fact that you're bringing a new breed of insanity to the table. But remember to take the communities suggestions and work with what they tell you, trust me you'll improve and get better over time when you listen to our nutty old guard. Especially me the brave and dashing AJ!

We left because he censored curse words. We did NOT leave because we were not allowed to rules lawyer and ignore Admins advice. Sorry for being an ass, but everyone needs an ass every once in a while.

Actually we left mainly because we didn't like how PC the forum was getting, and we also disagreed with the nutty moderation team there. So to prevent further drama we made our own home that is slowly growing more and more by each day/week/month.

Peri, You're a great guy but I feel like this damage you've got right now is showing a bit too much. I don't know what crappy post-man threw you onto the doorstep, but tape yourself back together because there are people ready to open up that package expecting a pretty antique for their mother or some wacky shit. I'm not saying you should be perfect because not everyone is, I'm saying that you should look good in that box because you're the admin and people are looking up to you and frankly this is getting a tad ridiculous. Also, please don't ask to me to agree with you on things like this because I'm never going to take anyone's side on something as silly as an RP disagreement.

Tesla, I'm going to agree with everyone you're a tad zealous and very defensive, but I won't blame you because you're getting tons of flack so good job on sticking up for yourself. But perhaps it's best to tone it down a few notches, which is contradictory to what I told you earlier so I'm sorry about that.

AJ, Thanks for stepping in, that's your job as admin, but I think it's more appropriate to PM these people and settle the disagreement. I don't like big posts like that clogging up my thread meant for easy times. Thanks for your work though.

Anyways, I suppose I should explain more as to what my thoughts on Tesla's character was since I don't think I quite clarified/understood/knew what I was thinking. I did 100% endorse the character, and even though they were a bit crazy because I thought it would be funny/interesting if there was this strange man on the crew that no one really could tell if he was some sort of Eldritch horror or just a normal guy. However, I think that my idea of what it was going to be like and Tesla's was way different, in fact completely different because we can't read each other's minds.

Tesla, I don't think you made this clear in the post you PM'd me.

My character is not human lets get this out there hes more like a lorn fluke crossed with a human and a master of the bazaar and yes he creates monsters and other interesting devices he also apart from 2 arms has 6 tentacles he uses with throwing knives with deadly accuracy im fine with engineer so we can have 2 crazy people on board and we can be freinds

That wasn't exactly noted in your sheet and I feel you dug into hyperbole a little; which is why this misconception happened. Had this been clearer in your sheet that you PM'd me, I would've asked you to change that. As I understood the description, it was this:

"APPEARANCE: he wears a trench coat with silk gloves and leather laced boots he wears a hood and a brass mask with two eye holes. Burningly bright light emanates from each eye hole. He constantly twitches and his clothes are oddly shaped and lumpy like that of a rubbery mans."

To your benefit a little below you did put in your inventory:

"12 throwing knives that can be thrown by his 6 tentacles"

Which I managed to miss. That detail at the end should've been added to your description or should've been added in your back story which I don't believe is. Now if there's a concern why I didn't think to check the inventory better it was assumed that anything that could really throw the game off would've been in the character description or the back story.


Here's is my final verdict on the whole matter and this is it to the 't':

Sunken Harbors is a collaborative story we're all making together. Since this is the case, I'm going to ask that you modify your character slightly, Tesla. I'm going to ask you remove the tentacles bit, however everything else description wise you may keep. However, if you're going to be playing this character that may or may not be a monster, you will be playing him as "...it would be funny/interesting if there was this strange man on the crew that no one really could tell if he was some sort of Eldritch horror or just a normal guy." I think that would make for a very interesting aspect of the story and more can be revealed about the character as we go. If that does not please you or the other players, I'll ask you to change your character to a normal human. Because I agree that having an actual horror on the ship will definitely drive away from the horrors at sea.

I'm fine removing tentacles xD look your the boss and I'm not arguing that but im going to keep his throwing knives without the tentacle bit

And it wasn't your fault about missing the tentacles sometimes even I have trouble keeping track of my own brain and miss things XD it happens when your think about a million things at once all the time
