I'll probably change it back at some point.
Story time: The wendigo is a famine spirit which represents the algonquian tribes greatest taboo; cannibalism. They also represent greed. It's such a big deal that there is a mental condition that occurs exclusively among native american tribes from the northern united states and canada called "Wendigo Psychosis." The sufferer believes they are becoming a Wendigo, will crave for human flesh, and will beg for their family and friends to kill him before they can turn. The condition is VERY rare, and the tribe will usually attempt to cure them. Cases where the cure fails and the tribe must kill the sufferer are almost unheard of, but not unknown. In most cases the sufferer has consumed, knowingly OR UNKNOWINGLY, human flesh.
In appearance, Wendigo are simply giant desiccated corpses like huge skeletons with skin stretched over them.
