Why do they look at you like shit when you card them? It's the law motherfucker. Just because the old guy never asked to see your ID doesn't mean I'm gonna do the same.
I got a job at a gas station... I'm gonna keep doing it for as long as politely possible and then start looking for a different job. The owners are nice people, and the job isn't overly unpleasant, but there are things that bug the shit out of me that could compound over time to make the work unpleasant. Especially the EBT shit. No other store makes the cashier do the EBT for the customer. Normally, the cashier only has to activate the EBT card reader and then the customer does the rest. At this place, the customer isn't allowed to touch the EBT card reader except to type in their EBT code. It doesn't make sense. I'm not allowed to let them select which customer loyalty they want to use either. I have to hit the buttons for them. Not on the register computer, on the card readers. The stuff that the customers are usually supposed to do is taken completely out of their hands to make my job more complicated than it has to be. It's gonna be a launch pad job so I've got something to bring in a paycheck while I look for something better. Or at least something I want to do.
