Essentially it's a spam thread with absolutely no topic, wasn't really my best thought out idea.

It's not explicitly banned, it's just not a good idea for a number of reasons, so yes, technically you could make a comment pyramid just fine, but think about how annoying it is to scroll through that and then think about an entire thread of nothing but that?
