The Dragon Cave
« on: April 24, 2015, 08:39:56 pm »
Anyone remember this from the DDA forum? It was big for awhile but slowly died down due to it taking so much signature space. I think I am going to bring it back to this forum! :D

Fun Fact: Since the names of the Dragons have to be unique I went with google translating them to latin, except one which I had an Idea but it didn't translate well in Latin so I put it in spanish. It was my whiptail dragon named Gato de las nueve colas which means Cat o' Nine Tails, referencing the whip of the same name.

Here are my dragons
Spoiler (hover to show)

Going to get some eggs going soon.

what is this? im doing it, why not.
Here's the rundown.

To get dragons you need dragon eggs.
There is 3 ways to get dragon eggs, you can go to the 6 areas and pick up an egg [this can be hard when it's more active as people can take the eggs before you.], you can take abandoned eggs before they die, or you can breed dragons.

With your egg you need views. Basically the eggs grow with each view and unique view and clicks, if they don't get enough before they hatch or grow within a certain timespan they die.
Soon they will grow up and there you go you got a dragon in your collection.

You can name them, give them descriptions, kill them [why would you do that you monster.], release them, and breed them.
Annoyingly the names have to be unique no 2 dragons can have the same name. This is why I have taking to naming them in latin.

Now I can give birth to the dragon children I've always wanted.

Why are your eggs lined up vertically. You should have it vertical, so it doesn't look as bad.

How many clicks/views foes it take for one to hatch?

I'm not sure, actually. I just signed Charlie up for like five different hatcheries. Somewhere around 400-700 views seems to be the sweet spot for hatching, but beyond that it's a mystery. Could be random, for all I know.

Double Post Dodge!: I adopted a couple more abandoned eggs. The blue one I'll name Benjamin and the White/Red one I'm gonna call Stacie.

I snatched two more abandoned eggs. These things are like potato chips, you can't have just one. I'm thinking Gerald for the dark blue one and Anastasia for the light blue one.

Oh and I did some more research on hatching and all that jazz: Eggs can't hatch until they have 4 days left on their Time Until Death timer. The same goes for hatchlings, I believe. Eggs will hatch after that 4 day mark, but the amount of views needed is still unknown. Most sources say that 400+ views should be enough, but unique views and clicks do factor into that. Clicks are worth more than unique views which are worth more than ordinary views, but the actual algorithm that totals the views and decides hatch-ability is still unknown.

And if you manage to starve your eggs of views until right before they are going to die you have a chance on getting one of the rarest dragons, the neglected dragon species.

But why would you do that you monster.
