Had a friend grumbling about the new Doom last night, yeah. The loadout system for multiplayer in particular. My reasoning is that a "choose your starting kit" system would be decent if it was less CoD-style. More restrained basically, enough that starting weapons could have advantages relative to each other, but prove inferior at what they do relative to the first obtainable weapon in its category. He also likes the fact you can clamber up stuff if you narrowly miss a jump. How naive. That just means the final game will probably have first-person platforming sans the ability to see your feet.
And while I'm a big fan of ye olde Doom an Doom 2 (and Heretic, Hexen, Strife...) I'm not really going to care if they fuck it up. Partly because Doom 3 already had its "whyyyy" moments, and partly because I doubt I'll ever get it anyway because my computer is a potato. :V
And back to game stuff I've been doing, Grim Dawn again. Despite my shitty net, I'm glad that multiplayer has worked so far when friends do the hosting. Being a pure, 110% soldier geared towards maximum armor is quite amusing when you have a squishier demolitionist on hand to tank for.
