Thanks dragon, I managed to download from the virginia mirror. The new york mirror returns a 404.
Finally downloading Fallout 4 and praying it'll run on at least minimum on my shitty computer.
As vulnus says, get the configuration tool. Theres also a mod that was uploaded minutes after fallout 4 came out that shrank the file size of the textures. The basics of that mod are that bethesda made the textures needlessly large, and the mod shrinks them without compromising the quality. I doubled my FPS with that mod. Also look for the one that changes all of the excessive filters inside buildings into blank invisible textures. It will double the FPS inside buildings because bethesdas filters for interiors are also needlessly large. Fallout 4 is also a case of telling people they need a PC with much higher specs than it actually needs so they can hide or dismiss certain errors. My PC came out in 2011, it's specs do not meet FO4 minimums, but it runs FO4 with little problem except for the terrible framerate, which only went away when I installed a bunch of player made patches.
http://www.nexusmods.com/fallout4/mods/978/?Here, this is a different one than the one I'm talking about, but I had to get it as well. Read the notes for info on how it works and why.
Well, from what I hear is that it runs worse on gaming pc's. So it'll most likely be fine.
It really isn't fine at all.
