My, how gloriously dead that MMO must be for you to be the only one cleaning up dead bodies. >.o
It isn't dead, the player base is just lazy and very self centered. As an example, the developer launched a second server a year or two ago to test new features. They turned that "expedition" server into a competition to see who would get the major new feature on the main server. This contest was a race. A race to build an ark before the witches could bring about the end of the server. Regular players would work together to gather materials and build the ship while other players who would try to unlock the secret of witchcraft and end the server before the others could finish the ark. If the regular players manage to build the ark, animals become easily available on the main server. If the witches end the server before the ark is complete, only the witches get animals on the main server. The bit that the devs didn't expect was that the player base was so thoroughly against working together that the ark went completely ignored, and the players that were willing to work together quit building the ark out of disgust for the rest of the player base. Their logic was "why should I build something just so the rest of you lazy fucks can profit off of what I'm doing?"
I took it upon myself to haul corpses on a whim, and when whim tells me to do something, I do it to completion. I didn't go unrewarded either. Several players thanked me with gifts of rare items and the developers rewarded me handsomely.
