I downloaded it and tried it out earlier. Above all else, having my character talk is not only just as immersion shattering as I thought it would be, it's also many many times more annoying than I thought it could be. I really like having conversations with other characters in this semi cinematic mass effect style and the UI which was clearly designed with consoles in mind (sarcasm.)

I'm just gonna delete it now and wait a few years for it to go on sale along with it's inevitable DLC.

Not to be that smart ass, but Wait for the mod that removes the talking and changes the UI. The UI and the talking aren't something that's inherently wrong with the game all things considered. But you don't like it so whatever, last time I tried to start this kind of conversation it didn't go over well so I'll shut up now.

Can't you disable the character talking? I thought I heard somewhere that you can.

Nope its on permanently, hell you can't even force 1st person.

However I'm slowly getting sucked into the game.

You can force first person, move your mouse to the side a ways at the beginning of a conversation.
Also, time for my several hours in review.
Its Awesome. The textures get a bit blurry at times, the voices range from great to bad, the faces are a HUGE step up from Skyrim, the voiced protagonist is honestly not a bad thing for me, as I act the nice guy anyway.
I have a story. I decided to wander off the beaten path, and found a shack covered in ghouls. This shack had a cellar. In this cellar, there was a named ghoul, mininuke parts everywhere, and a terminal. On the terminal was a message stating that the government had set up a radio tower in his yard and he was going to blow it up with a mininuke because he was a true patriot.

I tweaked the graphics and bumped down to FXAA. The game looks a lot more sharper and vibrant because of that, the game runs as smooth as butter with a little bit of stuttering when shit gets real.

Also I've began construction on AJ-Dime Tower near Salem. I'll get screenshots of the project as it progresses. Also I can't put the fucking game down now that it runs good and looks good.

I ALSO LOVE THE FOLLOWING: DOING JET, PISSING OFF CODDSWORTH, SHIRKING PARENTAL RESPONSIBILITIES, KILLING BITCHES, AND DOING LOTS OF JET.

I did like the armor/clothing stuff though. I was a bit put off when I found usable power armor without having to earn it almost immediately after getting to the red rocket gas station, but felt a bit better when I discovered it was more a vehicle than a piece of clothing and that it had to be powered. (I didn't watch any trailers, so I didn't know any of that.)

It's more a shooter than it is an RPG, and though I don't have anything against shooters, I guess that's also putting me off a bit.

Yeah, I mean I still have some faults with Fallout 4 but its starting to grow on me more and more. Did you know if you clear out the huge bandit camps you can read logs from "allied" camps that comment on the loss? The first camp I hit was the one in the Corvega Factory, now every bandit camp I've raided so far has at least one entry about the raid and how that bosses loss affected the crew at the base. Sometimes they'll mourn, other times they get uber pissed, and most of the time they get more guns and armor to fight you with.

Its little things like that, that get me engaged with what I'm doing. Now I just hope the main quest is like that, with whatever I do affecting the gameworld... but so far I've just been wandering around.

Also to comment on the lack of "locations" in the game, I finally figured out why, a lot of it is just in the gameworld, houses, stores, etc... if the windows are busted open or the door is ajar, then its basically a small zone you can enter into a loot.

ALSO ONE THING I'VE LEARNED FROM LOOTING! You know those Vault Tech Lunchboxes, they aren't useless! OPEN THEM! They give out RNG'd goodies like drugs, ammo, and food. Like I just got Ice Cold Nuka-Cola Quantum out of one just now.

I am enjoying the fuck out of the game. I cleared out Corvega as well, simply because I was passing by. Also joined the BoS, so that is nice. Also am carrying 3 fusion cells, and have figured out a few tricks to stretch them out, and, let me tell you, that power armor is a hell of a Raider Buster.
Let me tell you guys a little trick I figured out. Walking somewhere in power armor costs battery power. Fast Traveling there does not. So, discover the raider camp on foot, and then travel to where your armor is, then fast travel back.
Also, I am at the point where I would rather get duct tape and toy cars over just about anything else.

I have hit the point where wearing power armor is a valid option. 7 power cells. Is nice.

I haven't played with Power Armor much because I left the first suit you get back at the museum where you first get it, mostly because I thought it'd be unfair to play with it this early. So I've been running into places like Salem and the harder areas with nothing but a Fedora, a Trenchcoat (or three-piece suit), a fuck ton of drugs, and some ammo that I usually don't end up using since I just spam bash on people once I've shaved off enough of their health.

But now some of the raiders are wearing Power Armor so I might head back there tonight and start building a set. I found a hot rod paint job for it and Goddammit I want to use it.

Also since a lot of the building looks like shit in this game (visually speaking, but then again no shit its Fallout it ain't gonna be clean.), so I decided to take inspiration from the ghettos and Cyberpunk movies and just mash a bunch of shit together and throw in some windmills and vending machines for good measure.

The UI is workable, and your point on the talking stuff is valid. It's all a matter of preference I guess. no need to shut up, I got myself all ready for it to come out bad that I didn't put as much time into looking for good stuff. I told you all to calm your hype but didn't keep my own anti-hype in check, which was wrong. GO FORTH AND BE HYPE IF YOU FEEL LIKE IT.

I've kinda fallen into what I call "Fallout Groove" its the point where I don't praise or hate the game anymore. I just play it like a souless husk until I snap back into reality. Happened with New Vegas, Fallout 1, and Fallout 3 (haven't played 2 for that long); you get used to the shittiness at a certain point because you normally find something that is fun.

Also the looting system with legendaries is pretty neat, if a tad bit OP sometimes. But the whole system feels too much like Borderlands, fight some harder recolor of a enemy and you might get some ultra rare piece of gun that either A. Looks like shit. B. Isn't from the "gun brand" you like. Or C. Its a model that you're sick and tired of using (basically all the SMGs in Borderlands 2). And finally D. Its actually something fun and powerful to use.

I mean I'll applaud Bethesda for having some incentive to playing on a higher difficulty and not making it a total grindfest (like Snorederlands). But at the same time I wished there was some special "Named" weapons in the Legendary loot pool. Maybe have something to reference the old games, like a rare BB Gun or an alien pistol based off the Fallout 3/NV model, or fuck having more silly weapons. Literally anything other then more, "Assassin Nocturnal Posioner 10mm Auto Pistol"

With me and my (replacement) wife Curie, I shall Trump the economy in the Commonwealth with Tatos and AJ developed "Trumpinomics". I'm thinking about streaming it, or at least recording it.

I have finally hit godtier in Fallout 4. T-60e power armor, 63 fusion cells, more weapons and ammo than you can shake a super sledge at, a hundred hits of jet, 67 stimpacks, and my companion, Macready, is in T-60d power armor.
