Isn't doom's main game not even out yet? Just the multiplayer's out.
It's halo with health pickups and a DOOM skin on it. I am hoping the main game isn't shit. I am hoping it uses id's old coding method and not bethesda's. Id's old code method was elegant, compact, easy to use, and apparently quite efficient. Where as, as we've seen, bethesdas code is bulky and generally conflicts with ITSELF. Id's "old" code btw, was used as late in the companies history as doom 3, quake 4, and prey. Those were pretty stable games as I recall. I hope to god there is enough of Id's old coding staff left from the old days that they can at least keep the new DOOM stable. I don't give a shit about story, DOOM was never about story, I just want the game play to feel right.
Blaming them for minor derps in Fallout 4 and major derps in Fallout 4 isn't enough. o3o
Fixed that for you. The only thing keeping me from preordering DOOM is the above disappointment.
Side note, related to Bethesda, does anybody here remember a few years ago that Bethesda was claiming it had obtained the STALKER license, but they actually hadn't obtained the STALKER license? As I recall, they misunderstood what they were getting and actually got the rights to make a game based off the book "Roadside Picnic" by Arkady and Boris Sturgatsky, the book that the STALKER movie was loosely based off of... which was the movie that the STALKER games were loosely based off of. I thought it was hilarious.
Getting away from my near vomit inducing disgust of Bethesda, the Project Zomboid easy multiplayer is now in the mainline. Hosting a server is now very easy, as long as the people you are playing with are in your friends list.
