Once I get the Vive though I'm gonna play Job Simulator all day every day and pretend I have a real job

Which Hexen? Beyond Heretic? I read somewhere about a compatibility between brutal doom and hexen, but it wasn't really supported much? Also running it through Zandronum. Tell us about your magical Hexen modding, and if you mean Hexen 2, I'd love to see that. I've played through H2 many times. Those fuckin angles at the end of the game that can turn to indestructible statues tho.

I have no intention of getting a vive, and it annoys me deeply that steam insists on flooding me with recommendations for VR games. Steam trying to push it at me makes me not want to buy a vive.

Starbound. Is it so hard to program NPC's to close doors behind them? roughlt 85% of NPC deaths are related to unclosed doors. What with all these prefab monsters spawning in bizarre, ungodly, numbers. Keeping NPC's around is just not worth it. The next update will put them on your ship though. As crew members. Who you have to take up space housing and feeding. On your ship. Oh and a rework of the combat system. Again. The last update was a "combat update." The next one will strip all that away and change it again. I've complained about it before, but holy fucking shit, why can't they decide what they fucking want?

Ah. Yeah, Beyond Heretic. The mod MIGHT also be compatible with Deathkings of The Dark Citadel. I can't think of any valid reason why it wouldn't. Sadly I know damn near nothing of Hexen 2 modding, so it's just glorious Doom-engine stuff. Sadly due to new action functions and other fun toys, Zandronum might hate it like it'd hate The Vile Keep. XP

I quit starbound, it was too Grundy, not very fun, and changed too bloody much.

VR gaming is the future, Steam just wants to help you embrace it as we move onto the next glorious age of gaming.

Also consider that consoles will never handle VR as well as PC and they'll probably never receive the same VR support as PC will. The more we encourage VR the more people will be ascended to the PC Master Race

Shhh, we'll ignore the fact that VR has been around for a while and isn't really as new as Oculus and HTC make it seem.

Although lets not ignore the fact that the Oculus and Vive are around £700, they're as expensive as most of the computers that run them when really they shouldn't be, the technology in them isn't that advanced or expensive and absolutely none of it is anything that's not at least six years old.

I'm sure it should be possible to adapt VR to work with the use of one eye, though I can't really imagine that being readily available until VR becomes more mainstream and even then I doubt it.

So after working some stuff out and considering the new RX 480's impending release, this is the build I've come up with, it's the same price as what I was going to get originally, but this is without adding on the £160 for the RX 480, so it's more expensive overall. That does mean I'm going to have to run this without a GPU for a while since I can't even slightly afford to buy them both at the same time, but it'll be worth it in the long run.

And eventually I'll add an SSD to this to replace the Hard Drive.
