Seems to, yeah. I finally moved on. Purged the last 4 bandits known to exist, assembled a warband of 10 warriors, and now it's time to finish my sweep across the continent.

EDIT: This minotaur just lolnope'd right past me while I was stalking the tunnels, past the warband, outside, and tried to run off into the forest. Must've figured out who I am. :V

EDIT 2: Also in our party, the token human. Lesser dragon tore an arm off and broke his neck, so we're keeping him alive through the power of fast-travel.

EDIT 3: Poor bugger died. Warband whittled down to 6 by the time I finally decided to tackle that hill titan I let live, ages ago due to its web-slinging. Tried to hold onto pillar and shank it, but that soon proved insufficient. Everyone else died, so I had no option left but to drink essence of draconic fury, and bathe it in holy flames. Fuck yes that felt good.

Aw. I worked hard to make shields behave sanely, dangit. I mean yeah, I WOULD'VE been damn fine leaving them as passive armor, but I slowly puzzled out how to add every bit of pointless realism that the devs demanded before they'd let me add shields to the medieval mod. ;w;

Welcome to DDA! Where all the good devs left and the rest of the devs are so bad it is all consuming!

That is still my fault, you derps. ;A;

Granted, it does sorta make sense that a shield would prevent you from using a two-handed sword unless you were stronk as all fuck. I recall only adding it to baskets and stuff because it was silly to have a hard-coded feature only be mod-only. Though maybe it should've only been applied to rigid examples like straw baskets and bindle sticks, not swag bags or plastic shopping bags. >.o

I had a brief case in the other hand. It doesn't help that the character in question has a 12 strength. I was under the impression that a strength of 8 was supposed to be "average" for a real life human being.

Maybe. Granted, how easily can you hold a zweihander with a briefcase in one hand? Maybe I should've implemented an attack roll penalty for minor, borderline cases like this, but just adding the foundation for shields was massively stretching the limits of my ability to make sense of the source code. ._.

I don't think anyone should be able to use a zweihander one handed. Your work was good, but now it's being used for tedious evil.
I mean, these guys aren't particularly muscly.

They do appear to be having a hard time though.

Exanima. The shining star of that game is the management arena mode where you hire/create fighters and walk them up through the ranks of gladiatorial combat to earn cash and for the enjoyment of Exanima's "unique" combat. The campaign is also good.

I believe that Exanima is a tech demo/prequel for Sui Generis, which also looks really good.

I recall and that the logic behind picking up items while having your hands full of shields also played into what they demanded of my coding. That is why you can't dual-wield shields or briefcases for example.

Still, I would've been perfectly happy to have them just be armor just covered the torso, head, and one arm/hand. Adding the mechanics behind shields as, well, SHIELDS was interesting, but a pain in the ass and leads to a lot of realism fuckery, as has been demonstrated. o3o

EDIT: Meanwhile in Dwarf Fortress...I've returned home. My deeds are now to be told, and I soon find all that remains is to hunt a mere giant bat. I swept across the continent, purging the undead-infested land of monsters, of dragons, of titans. I found faraway civilizations, wracked with war and brigandry, and forged peace single-handedly.

For the first adventure in ages, I am actually PLEASED, not bored, to have nothing more to do.

heads up that Tropico 4 is free over at Humble bundle's website for those interested, though it requires you link your steam account to the website.
EDIT: Additional info because I'm a bit forgetful of some things: It's free for about one day and 22 hours according to the timer on the site.

Someone finally PR'd fixes to arcana that I laid out over a week ago. Not even one of the several people over said week that said they'd do it for me. :V

UnReal World made it into the guiness book of world records for "Longest update support for a game" setting the record at 24 years.

I've been playing the new deus ex a lot more now that dx12 is supported and I have to say being able to run it without any stuttering/hitching anywhere is a pleasant addition to the game, which does have as good a story (in my opinion) as human revolution and is just generally a good, fun game to play.
