I got used to the expansion to the sewing action. It would be nice if "stop when you either fail or succeed" was the default, essentially make it work like the old method only it takes more time and thread. Speaking of which, the real problem is how much more thread it eats up.

Also, I am now saddragon. There was a PR to allow you to deconstruct things like placed forges, tarp tents, etc without needing tools. It used JSON fuckery but seemed solid enough. Then Coolthulhu insisted on foisting a more complex idea onto a newbie contributor and the PR pretty much fell apart.

That's the kind of thing that happens sometimes. Nub contributer wants to implement a thing, the idea is made more complex than he can handle. Saltmummy wants to make clam traps. Instead of answering the simple question of "hey, where can I find the code for fish traps so I can ape it to make my clam traps?" he gets told that the code is "on github."
"I am well aware that the code is on github, can anybody tell me where it is, generally? I just want to see it and github is rather incomprehensible to me."

Either way, the idea falls apart.

I'd want the clam traps to work like growing plants now anyway. Or have them as preexisting clumps that form in shallow water. Like berry bushes. Doesn't matter though, couldn't  find the code for that shit either.

I know I've had to deal with that more times than I can count.

Meanwhile...I could see how big a container I can fill with mutagen, then mainline it and see how fucked I get.

Uninstall the gas tank on a Humvee or something, fill it up to the brim with mutagen, and chug that shit, man.

Though I'd assume a 55 gallon drum might be more spacious. I just like the idea of chugging a gas tank's worth of radioactive sludge. Injecting that much is an even more ridiculous image.

As tempted as I am, I think I'll save my mutagen binge for after I can produce enough to fill a hilariously large container.

Instead, I finished the mine in search of a jackhammer, basically fucking steamrolled The Thing with a pike. And my reward?

Ow, ow, ow. I updated my game and now milspec turrets can actually reliably hit me at about 17 spaces away, and they can deal damage through my armor more consistently. Even after having kevlar-modded my plate armor. D:

Because I sure do. Though, that ring sounds completely epic. And I lucked out with the first museum, I've got a xiphos. Really going for that ancient Greek look now, I guess. Another museum and two pawn shops'll be looted soon. Most zombies are dying in two hits now, even specials, and my melee skill is increasing like fucking crazy. I have skill rust off, because....you don't lose real skill after not doing a thing for two days. Coughrealisticdevthingcough. My kill count's a little over two hundred. Almost exclusively zombies, besides a few wolves, cougars, and coyotes.

Nyahahah. Thing is, mil-spec turrets are SUPPOSED to hurt like hell if you're in their range.

It isn't realistic bullshit. In fact it was still 1-5 damage on average, with rare hits peaking at about 10-15. At basically the maximum range at which the turrets would bother firing. Plate armor, even with kevlar, shouldn't be bulletproof from a realism OR gameplay perspective. :V

And nice. Meanwhile I am on the quest for the elusive acetylene torch, to try and get into the lab armory and stuff. I'm thinking I also kinda want to actually try stuff like farming and keeping a given choice of firearm fed with scavenged powder, because why the fuck not.

I know, I know. But it's a game. It just irks me. It used to be rather playable, and now it's not hard, it's just complicated and annoying to the point of half the old players no longer wanting to play it, y'know? Give us something. Give us a few things to ease the burden. Plate armor can be bulletproof, why not. You can healthily live for a week on red meat, why not. Shit like that.

And pawn shops are a good bet for the acetylene torch. I've found two in recent playthroughs. And reloading ammo's a pretty fun part of the game. Haven't done much farming ingame yet, besides weed.

Thing is, I don't mind realism so long as they contribute to the gameplay or game balance in some meaningful way.

And I can't get a pawn shop, playing with city size set to 0. :V

Shit, right, forgot. Heh, basically the time I set item spawn to .01 and had a long-lasting character. It can be real fun to have few resources ingame besides what you kill and what you get from dismantling things.

And I can personally attest to the red meat thing as a side note. Lived a week on jerky and assorted dried/packaged meat products while backpacking. I'm not sure it was healthy, but hey, you can do it.

And I'd have no idea how to find one without cities. Can it be crafted?

That's the derpy thing with the nutrition system, the effects are apparently rather acute compared to real life.

And I don't think I can craft acetylene, no. Now that they can be reloaded, I'll wondering whether or not the gas at least can be crafted. I raided a farm and I'm fairly certain they sometimes have them. No luck, but I have another on my map to try.

I've never found anything good in an antique store, but that's down to my item spawn settings. I did find a "blob ripper" in a public works station though. So that was a surprise. Also the predetermined spawns of the public works. You know. Windows, sand, boards, logs, pipes, and 200 nails that always spawn in the work shed.
