I didn't do anything to buff the bolds themselves. D:
It seems to be more that the enemy has serious trouble hitting trained kobolds, but conversely their stone weapons manage to inflict indirect damage despite bouncing off the metal armor.
You may be right. I've read through the logs a bit and it seems that even untrained kobolds are very agile, they make a lot of dodge checks. Even non military kobolds are a bit tricky to hit. Perhaps it's their size that aids them? They almost never block, it's mostly dodging.
As for the damage, I also noticed that blows landed by kobolds which hit armor would always be deflected, but the force behind the attack would also do at least minor damage to the part beneath. In some cases, it's not rare for a kobold to break bones with minor glancing blows. The previously mentioned novice spearbold who accompanied Six in killed that goblin was the one who disarmed the goblin. He hit the goblins copper gauntlet with his bauxite spear, the blow was deflected but it still tore muscles and ligaments, forcing the goblin to drop his silver longsword.
