Utterly Mad

Drosme stood on the wall, watching the horizon for any sign of the enemy. One of Fort Steels soldiers approached him and said "I did not expect the expedition to your home to bear fruit, but I am glad I was wrong Drosme."
Drosme looked at the lizard and recognized him. The two had met on the field of battle years ago, and had ended up fighting alongside each other against the forces of Fort Death. "It is good to see you Mortis. I thought the Elders would refuse to help your people, but I was surprised. These men of Solaire must be more dangerous then I thought."
"We sent diplomats. They were slain except for one. He was allowed to return to warn us. I will enjoy killing their soldiers." Mortis said, his hands resting on the handles of his swords.
Drosme did not reply, instead he continued to look out over the horizon and contemplate what he had been told. Mortis spoke again after a few minutes "Come, it is time for a change of guard. We can talk at the Inn and reminisce about that great battle."
Drosme nodded as he turned to look at Mortis "Yes, that sounds good."
And with that the two left the walls as several more Lizardfolk came to relieve the current guard shift.
