The Rescue Team
Periscope
You let loose a few shots from your rifle, but since you're too close to use the scope effectively, and you're moving, your shots bounce harmlessly off the brick walls of the apartment. Your rifle's discharge sounds echo throughout the empty neighborhood, and you can hear some shouting from inside the building.

Marcus
You go wide, around the outside of the car and across to the back of the apartment. The entire first floor seems rather well barricaded, and you get the feeling whoever's in there took extra care to make the front door the only entrance. You do notice a fire escape, however the ladder has been left in the up position and it's a bit too high to grab from the ground. Your partner's shots creates sudden bursts of light across your position, and the shadows they cast are warped and inhuman. You hear people talking inside the apartment, but can't quite make out their words.

Two-Paw clunk-cachunks up behind the car and deploys its weapon. It makes an electric hum as it charges the cannon.

The Survivors
The Lobby
You hear three shots from some laser weapon go off on the street, and the footsteps of something metallic moving towards the building.
Vae's on the floor, revolver drawn. She's sitting up against one of the barricades, ear pressed to the wall. "If you think I'm going out there, you've got another thing coming! Did you see how fast those guys shot at you? Who knows if they'll shoot at me or not. I'm not leaving cover until we reach some kind of a ceasefire."

Aaron
You slide the gun across the floor, and peek over one of the barricades to get a look at the armor. You can't quite tell what he's wearing in the dim light, but you gather it's a full suit of armor. Usually the weakest points are at the points of movement, like the elbows, knees, shoulders, and the neck. Unfortunately, those places are going to be a lot harder to hit, but with a little luck you could do some damage.

The Darkness
The elevator hums around you. The fading light from above turns to darkness as a false panel slides in place above your heads, sealing your fate. The man sits in his chair, silently. You can't see what he's doing, or where he is, but you can hear him. His gas mask's filters belie his labored breathing. It's shallow, and uneven, the breathing of someone sick, or feverish. Perhaps he is in need of some faith.
