Forum DnD Game

Well maybe not DnD but something we're all able to find and look at. Suggesting this because I think it'd be interesting even though it'd require a bit of effort on all parts.
Thoughts? Yay, nay?
If yes
What system? Who's going to DM it?

Just putting this out here since it's something I think quite a few of us would be interested in doing.

I would recommend Pathfinder, I can find a PDF, and, while I would rather not GM, I will if no one else wants to.

...as someone who attempted making a sheet before finding out I'd not have the time for it (it was a while ago, also not gonna be able to do mic most likely tbh) it can be confusing, but here's a link to an online resource:
Also, whilst I'm not partial to any system (only ever done DnD with my bros so not much experience) I retain the right to say 'this is more complicated then removing the plumbing to my house'(which is complicated as all hel).

I will be perfectly willing to run the game and acclimate people too it. Pathfinder is pretty much 3.5 DND, but MUCH better, less broken, and simpler.

Making a character was a bit of a darn challenge for me, and then like I said didn't finish had to take care of life stuff. But for right now let's see if there's more interest and then make the final decisions.

Two things:

1. I'd rather you focused on Cthulu Hunters but thats up to you.

2. I prefer 5th Edition over Pathfinder so I may be a bit biased but 5th Edition's Rules are better.

I actually prefer 4th Edition, mostly because I think that particular incarnation of the Druid (probably my favorite class next to the Fighter) has the best flavor out of any other DnD edition, and I really dislike the Vancian spellcasting system.

Also because you actually get to do neat things beyond just hitting things with your weapon as pure martial classes in 4th instead of having to dip into spellcasting.

Having run 3.5, pathfinder, and 4th, i have to say that my players do WAY better with vancian magic. Giving a homicidal druid infinite fire spells is a BAD idea. That, and i just like the wizardly progression better. a problem in 4th edition was that every class had effectively the same mechanics.

Seconded. Vaal is still a thing too.

I started this thread hoping to be a Player and not the DM, and yes, Cthulu Hunters is going to be a primary focus of mine. Doesn't mean I can't see if there's interest in a DnD styled game that I can play in. My primary focus is Cthulu Hunters, and if it ever gets additional players, Vaalstad.
And besides unlike Cthulu Hunters or Vaalstad I imagine this would be a once weekly kind of deal, where as these are pretty much just 'whenever everyone's one'.

That PDF drive is great but I can't find Pathfinder in it.
Also, let's go ahead and get a head count on who all is interested in taking part. So do me a favor and if you are interested go ahead and make another post saying so.

I'll be joining and I might talk one of my IRL friends to join. He loves D&D and we've played plenty of P&P games together so he might be interested.
