So, my laptop's power cord's power block thingy (what I call it) was fried so I had to get a new one. NOW IMMA BACK FROM THE DED.
Ah those power block things, I wonder if there is an official name for them? The one I have for my small laptop is a kinda old one, and it is the size of a brick.
The AC adapter. Ive gone through one of them and two cords. in the case of the adapter, over time the cord tries to unravel/twist because of being rolled up or other wear and it contracts, slowly pulling the wire out of the contacts in the adapter. That is if a power surge doesn't fuk it first. The plug portion usually wears out due to bending at the base of the bits at either end, causing the same wire/contact pull away. Those old AC adapters are a bit more resilient than the newer ones.
When I replaced my hard drive after the old one shat itself, I was told to send my old hard drive to the company that provided the replacement (dell) but I never got around to it. I've never been reminded to do it or reprimanded for not doing it, so I just kept it. I wonder if their are consequences for not sending it to them...
