The new thief game, as someone who never played the old ones, was a good stealth game, but from everything I've heard about the old ones it was only a decent Thief game.
Also, got fallout 4 yesterday and it's pretty much what I expected as far as game play goes. Settlement building is a bit more complicated then I thought but enjoyable.

I agree, Thief was a good stealth game, but yeah, As a thief game it wasn't really on point. Actually, I can see it being better if the main character wasn't Garret and he was only mentioned in conversation and/or lore bits you find. I also wish they would have stuck to the old thief's theming a bit closer too. OH well.

There are some mods you can get that improve the base building by adding more stuff you can build, try to get a hold of some of those.

I never really got around to playing either Thief game, but from gameplay videos I watched I noticed that the main problem with the new Thief is the fact that it was only "Thief" in the title alone.

In the original Thief you played as a charismatic sneeky-beeky lad thrown into huge sandboxes to sneak and steal your way through. The new Thief was structured more like Dishonored, which isn't bad mind you, but Dishonored was structured like that because it was more about assassination. Even then though, Dishonored was a better Thief game then Thief(2014) and that was probably because Dishonored was made by the guys who did the original Thief the Dark Project.

Mgsv phantom pain is a hell of a ride. You 'complete' the main story and it just goes "no lol here's some more" I'll have to play some other games in the series.

Since I missed the big fallout 4 discussion I'm going to confine myself to a singular post for it...well two technically.

So the game, upon starting a second character, feels so much better on the Hard difficulty versus the Normal difficulty. Normal I felt like my deaths were stupid because of grenade spam (which is an issue) whereas in Hard I feel like their all my fault for either not having prepared properly or because I tried to rambo a group of raiders rather poorly.
I like that I get different toys with different factions, it makes them feel different from each other, where as with NV I felt like 'yeah, that's cool caesar...wait your the NCR? wait House right? I don't care just fucking pay me asshole', no real 'hey this is cool that this faction gives me this, oh hey this one gives me this other thing'. So it just helps make them feel different which is nice.
And onto things I don't like.
Well aside from the lack of skills not much. The fact I can't play it in full screen since the lockpicking won't load properly due to my screens weird resolution or whatever you call it. So I've been playing it in windowed mode.

Nice to know someone actually enjoyed the factions in Fallout 4, although you could do a mercenary run in NV.

My main problem with Fallout 4's factions is that the main two are unlikable assholes, and the other two are just plain saints. I also have a problem with how fast you're thrust into positions of power. I know Bethesda didn't want the casualcucks to get bored with not being able to hop into power armor instantly and command armies, but it feels really forced when Buzz Lighter promotes you to Knight with just one mission.

But like you said they give you neat little toys, and if you do what I'm doing (AKA: not beat the game, because the story is more retarded then Fallout fanfiction) then that means all the factions are locked in a cold war because their errand boy is too busy using them all to create his own empire.

I just wish steam wasn't having dollar bills stuffed up it's ass right now so I could stuff bills up it's ass.
In other words, I wish people would stop buying things so the steam servers were more stable so I could buy a thing.

Steam seriously needs to figure out a way to differentiate 'you own this game' and 'you played this game when it had a free weekend like two months ago'.

Or tell you when your friend actually owns a game, even if they haven't played it. Or a way to stop it from trying to install and update twice. Or to STOP RECOMMENDING GAMES BASED ON GAMES I LOOKED AT. FUCK YOU STEAM! JUST BECAUSE I LOOKED AT A TEXT ADVENTURE ONCE, DOESN'T MEAN I WANT TO BUY IT, IT'S KIND, OR ANY OF THE SHITTY ECCHI TEXT GAMES THAT SOMEHOW MAKE IT ONTO YOUR FUCKING STORE PAGE. JUST BECAUSE I OWN A COUPLE ZOMBIE GAMES DOES NOT MEAN I WANT TO FILL MY LIBRARY WITH SHITTY STEAM EARLY ACCESS GREENLIGHT ZOMBIE GAMES. FUCK YOU STEAM! TAKE MY MONEY!

woops, must have hit the capslock without noticing. Fuck it, i'm not retyping that in lower case. Just pretend it's shouting.

I looked up Major/Minor after Hippie (a cool dude that runs Hippie Station, yes the game was cringe fuel that's why he streamed it) streamed it. After getting a good laugh out of the author's expense and at the reviews, I now have damn VNs popping up in my damn feed.

You know what I should make a LP of that damn VN Nickboom forced me to play a while back, that one where you're in "Russia" and yet they all look like Japanese School Girls and it gets all 2spooky4u when the shit hits the fan. I never finished it, it bordered between decent and cringeworthy.

Why aren't there any games with a strong focus on urban exploration? I'm talking like GTA4 and Condemned and STALKER. Just walking into ruined old buildings, looking at relics of a time that was so close and so very far.

I might have to make a game based off of that Dan Bell guy, you head into a mall and explore maybe I'll put some creepy easter egg type stuff to spook people. I JUST WANT TO GO EXPLORE SOMEWHERE DAMMIT!
