Because they won't drive away a significant portion of the fanatically loyal minecraft player base by doing that, and they know it. "Fuck em, they will forgive us." is the standard motto when it comes to outrageously popular IP's. As with any titan IP, be it fallout, minecraft, the sims, or any other massive "fucking of the player base" in recent years, the fans will forgive a great deal before actually taking offense at something. You could slap their mothers, stab their fathers, mug their brothers, steal their grand parents pensions, and sell their sisters into the sex trade and they will forgive it because they love that game series and that company so much.

Fallout 4 having a fuckload of DLC before the god damn construction set was even out is what pushed me out of the blind devotion to Bethesda. Fuck that.
