Still hoping for a lead on Vietnamese Crystal. Meanwhile, still got that Metroidf 2 remake zipped up somewhere, because no telling w hen it might get fucked in the ass by Nintendo.

And meanwhile in DF...played a reptile man, bringing with me a pair of fellow scalybutts. We're on a pilgrimage from our humble village to a human settlement on the other corner of the continent, purging any lair we find along the way.

Our first hunt went just fine, shanking a feral ogress to death and making gear from her bones and skull. Also handed off some feral ogre tooth and nail darts to the blowgunner. Then we had a lair with a...treant. "A towering creature formed of living wood, single-minded in its hatred of industry and artifice. Not even the elves are safe from its wrath."

Slew the bastard without issue, but my blowgunner ally was badly mauled, missing her entire left arm and leg. Dlostayrbin soon bled to death. A pyre we built, for her and the three other corpses the treant left laying in the wild around it.

Then a dire wolf arrived, apparently attracted by the pyre. It was slain as well, and soon we struck our next lair. I ordered my remaining ally to wait outside, so if needed I could lure it outside and ensure he doesn't join the fight until after the beast is hobbled. It was a lesser dragon, and I managed to slay it easily on my own.

Any of you who are more knowledgeable about DS2 than me, Is there an item or equipment combo that lets you hit someone from across a room with your barehands while giving the broken guard stagger effect with each attack without reducing their stamina, even when they aren't blocking AND you can do all that without even looking at them? Cuz I was just walking through Heides tower of flame and some guy wearing the Havel set with a gyrm helmet did all that shit until switching to some pitchfork which he used to poison me, break all of my equipment, and reduce both stamina and health down to 0 in two hits.
There is a ring that makes your weapons invisible you get for doing a no death run, and one from a no bonfire run, that could cause him to have an invisible fume ultra greatsword.
I'm pretty sure he was definitely unarmed. He was throwing punches and doing knee kicks. I could see the pitch fork fine.
That is the only explicable part, rest was using the cheat engine.
If you have to cheat at dark souls, you'll never git gud.
Has anyone noticed how pathetically easy the old iron king is?

AM2R has throw some hot garbage my way. Getting the power bombs involves a mad dash to exit an overheating power cord thingy that you just power-bombed to leave the room, and eventually you leave and get hit by a scripted explosion that leaves your health at five.

Despite the stress of escaping, reaching that "oh hey, you almost die anyway" moment isn't that hard. It's getting to the nearest save point afterward...oh, what's that? Just gotta spacejump up and try not to get hit by those floating clam things that will kill me five times over? No worries.

What is the DEAL with this room? First you need super missile for the door. Then the wall inside it needs a power bomb. Then the wall behind THAT is a speed booster wall. But there's not enough space to get a run-up, so you apparently have to do some shinespark magic by getting speed in the room before it. So you have to somehow get speed up in the first room, store it long enough to reach the second room, lay a power bomb (fucking power bomb blocks aren't one-time-only), then shinespark through the second wall.

Not even a power bomb or energy tank is worth this level of insanity.

mmm. Flying clam things.
The real boss is the pool of lava to the right of the door.
The souls from killing that pool of lava must be amazing.

I took out the old PSP last night and decided to play monster hunter on it. I had a complaint for awhile that the newer games were far easier, and that opinion could be backed up by the fact that I've played through the last three games (MH3U, MH4U, MHG) without failing a mission. In the old games, I failed all the damn time. Eventually I settled on "well, I've just gotten better" so decided I would go back to these older games to complete some of the missions I couldn't beat before. For an hour I consistently failed or barely managed to scrape by a victory after using all my supplies and nearly running out of time.

I didn't get better. Monster hunter games are easier than they used to be.

Well, looks like War Hammer 40k Eternal Crusade is coming along nicely. For those that don't know from my understanding it's kind of like Planet Side 2 in scale but Warhammer in setting.

  • Probably okay.

The banjo games were good.
cept nuts and bolts. Not that it's shitty, just that it really shouldn't be a banjo game.

Banjo Kazooie was irksome at times, tedious in others, but good for the most part. No idea about the second game, and I don't really care at all about the racing spinoff.

Meanwhile in AM2R...you know, this is the first time in quite a while that I yelled "Holy shit!" while playing a game. Nope, no actual metroids involved. Not even really a jumpscare, which in most games makes me startled a bit before provoking snark. Nope, I drop into a room...full of those floating projectile-hell bomb things. Which kinda fucking hurt because of how many projectiles they give off, and made worse by the fact their shots can set more off.

So I narrowly miss grazing a few which probably would've been gloriously laggy, and likely killed the everloving shit out of me.

EDIT: I just decided to go test the danmaku room. That is SEVEN ENERGY TANKS worth of "go fuck yourself" if you graze one of them.

They introduced a new mechanic to salem a couple days ago.

Hypothermia. One of the veteran players pissed off one of the developers by exploiting a flaw in the system (the current season hadn't updated it's temp due to the timing of the patch) to make a bunch of capes and criticizing the system, so the developer in question dropped the server temperature as low as it would go. Many noobs died, but the above pictured gent was rescued by the efforts of another player and I. It's actually a decent system, as long as you can get some shoes on your feet before the cold takes you. Shoes make a big difference.

Meanwhile in Dwarf Fortress, I'm trying to figure out how to resolve a developing conflict between humans and amphibian men.
