In other news, the kobolds are once again embarrassing the fuck out of the cavern wildlife. They seem to be taking their time in sealing things up, so a giant cave toad got in. A fisher bold punched it into unconsciousness and then left it. Upon waking, it tried to pick a fight with a passing engraver. The engraver promptly kicked it back into unconsciousness and went about his business. The military is on it's way *rolls eyes*

Let me guess. Designate a pasture underneath a fairly sedentary animal, then pray it lets you try to tame it? Because I...haven't actually thought of that until now. That sounds like the only potential way to manage that.

This would be nice, except traps are hard-coded. If I could, I'd add cage traps using a rope instead of a mechanism, and maybe rock traps too. But those can't be altered. Closest thing to a trap would be upright spears, which can be propped up without a mechanism. But you'd need a way to coerce enemies to fall onto them...

And yeah, not a lot of goblinite available because there were only 10 of them. ;w;


I'm not sure what this is about, but for now I'm sealing it and rerouting it's access through the fort proper. Kobolds going through here to collect things is slowing the works up. I'm already in the process of sealing the caverns, so it shouldn't be that big of a problem.

I assume Apathetic did that, but I did seal part of it so enemies can't get underneath the fort from outside. Most likely the kobolds are pathing into the part of the tunnel on the other side of that wall, which thus can only be accessed from outside.

Nope, I have no idea on that one either.

20-30 FPS is so much faster than most of my forts that it's not even funny. MOAR TORCHES! UNCAGE THE BEASTS!

In other news, a cave croc found it's way into the fort and like the olm and toad before it, had it's shit utterly pushed in by a lone kobold.
Doubleposting died of dehydration. It took removing the southern wall of his hospital room to get anyone to notice. Also, it took removing that wall to make his corpse produce miasma as well. Odd.
Oh, no wonder no one discovered him. Someone locked the door to his room. I'll need to go over the logs again and see who did it.

I love how kobolds have been singlehandedly kicking the shit out of giant cave fauna, and yet they're still getting mauled by fucking badgers on the surface.

I locked Sixposting and Doubleposting in there because they had compound fractures, when kobolds lack traction benches. Any suggested for a fitting recipe to replace the need for mechanics?

I haven't modded anything, but you'll prolly end up hating me anyway.
Also, the animals will be in cages. I contemplated tying them up, but decided against it.

No, it is working. I have about 20 caged animals right now, waiting to be added to the zoo.
Also I have a problem. The merchants left, but... They appear to be frozen in time. when the do move, they simple walk against the walls or in random directions for a few steps, and then they stop again.

Meanwhile, the kobolds on the surface watched in a mix of confusion, interest, and fear as the latest trade caravan... did nothing. It was as if they had been frozen mid stride. Even more odd was that they had left more than half of their trade goods on the depot.
