I've decided this is the right direction to take this. The poll isn't quite finished, but I believe in this more. So, here are the new rules in addition to the old ones:
Events will be managed by players. (Pirate raids, discovering islands, management, etc.)
Certain people will be able to start certain events. ( A can create Enemy Events, while B focuses on island discover and navigational descriptions.)
Events should only happen if the situation calls for it.
Everyone will be able to create NPC interactions, but not everyone will be able start hostile enemy interactions.
During combat scenes, there is no longer a judging factor to decide if you get hit, or you hit. Therefore, the Furaotic's Fair's Fair Rule comes into play meaning: You must create an interesting story with your character
when it comes to combat. If your character lands every shot, they are not interesting. If you character dies in one fight, they are not interesting. Those things make the story unfair to everyone else, so you must be fair.
I at the end of the day still have final say if we disagree on matters in OOC or IC or in general.
The purpose has switched from mechanics to story telling, which means that your posts must reach a certain standard. I've seen writers create beautiful one sentences that blow me away, so if you can amaze me and everyone else in one sentence, great. However, no one is a one liner god, so your posts must often be lengthy, checked for grammar and spelling errors, and must push the story forward in someway. No writer puts something in for no reason, and that's what we are at this point so do not do that. You must also be willingly ready to accept critiques and critisism on what you post by myself and anyone else.
It is encouraged that we discuss what plans we have next for IC in OOC. Ask, "would it be interesting if..." or "Do you think we could..." Ask questions and bring up possibilities, and those ideas can then be explored in the IC.
Taking control of another person's character is okay, as I've decided now. Not everyone is around to post, but the story must go on! If you do use someone's character, you must stick truly to them and not change anything major. This is simply for making characters tag along if we go somewhere, or get them to answer a question if you need it. This should only be used for small, insignificant moments, but used none the less. If it doesn't work, I'll fix it. ((Also, BOLD their name and what they do so they can easily see what happened.))
The sanity and health bars shall remain if we desire to keep track of how our characters are fairing, however there is no longer determining factors to decide when they lose or gain health/sanity, that's up to you.As stated by the first few rules, events will be managed by certain people. This doesn't mean you control it mechanically, this just means that if the group thinks it's time for some fighting, then you initiate that and describe how it starts and possibly what happens to enemy characters. You're basically a baby GM for a moment. The same thing goes with discovering islands and various other events. So, if there is something you want to be appointed to, say below. We need at least one in each not including me. More jobs may be created as they are needed and feel free to list some below.THOSE ALLOWED TO CREATE NPC INTERACTIONS
