You know that sounds like a great idea. Something related to that which really pissed me off a few days ago.
There's a big open market that gets set up during the day, sells food, clothes, all sorts of stuff. My problem with it is that at the end of the day as they're all packing up they just toss most of the food into a big pile, sure the seagulls have a feast, especially during the summer because they crack the eggs and let them cook on the floor.
But all of this food just goes to waste, because not all of it goes to the birds, some guys in a van come and pick it up to burn it all, no idea why because the food all looks fine, most of the packaged stuff isn't even opened, I think it's mostly a case of they can't be assed packing it back up so they dump it. The issue is that my city has a lot of homeless people, they're everywhere and there are a lot of homeless shelters, I've worked in a few of them (and seen nuns steal from them, I'm not even shítting you) and almost all of that food could go to those homeless shelters who often struggle to have enough food to feed everyone. (Homeless shelter food is often pretty good too, better than what most people eat despite what you may think)
