How'd you get it to not censor his name?
You can still use scissors, but you have to apply them instead of just butchering.

stuff

Your list looks pretty similar to mine, haha. Maybe I'm just spoiled these days, but I think probably half of the stuff I own seems to have been a total waste of money, and another quarter aren't really worth the price. That leaves the final quarter as stuff I think was worth the asking price, and most of that stuff I would have happily paid more for.

Kinda unrelated here, but I was just playing this WWI mod for Running With Rifles, and I came across a Canadian soldier with my IRL name. I don't have a particularly common name. It was a little eerie. I was gonna take a screenshot, but then I got killed by a mills bomb.
Gone. Cheers guys.

Oh right, derp.

Spoiler (hover to show)

And if you're still playing it, drop that mapgen_basements file into Arcana mod and playtest it. I kinda randomly got in the mood to add a feature I wanted to add waaay back when, back before they JSOnized some basements and thus revealed what mapgen weight to use for them.

Alright, I'll try it out. I don't play it much. Mostly for only a few minutes when I am very bored. There seems to be an issue with performance that has appeared since I last played it. It doesn't happen when I go into look mode, but when just playing the game the delay between steps is horrifying.

Glorious soviet lag strikes again? :V

And good luck, I did set the weights fairly low. With city sizes set to the default of 4, you tend to encounter between 1 and 3 arcana basements in a medium-size town.

Think the big issue I have is that neither stand up to DF, which is free and all. At $30 you'll get $1 per hour of fun, which is how I usually measure shit, but there's alot of other stuff that will beat the ratio here in my mind.
I guess that's the same problem I have with them. In the end, they just can't stand up to the juggernaut that is dwarf fortress. They are pale imitations in the end. Sure they are easier to learn, but once you do learn them the game play is over. They have nothing left to give and you paid 30$ for them. Honestly, I regret buying prison architect every time I see it in my games library.
The fact that rimworlds dev seems aware that his game might be a bit meh at the moment and wants to remedy that is hopeful for that game at least.

At least they aren't no man's sky.

On a note related to overpriced games, does anybody else here keep a list of overpriced games? My list is
Prison architect
Rimworld
Age of Empires 2 and 3*
Clockwork empires (it's ok though)
Oblivion and fallout 3**
Junk Jack (barely. It's good though)
The escapists (holy fuck it's overpriced for what you get)

*No idea why microsoft feels AoE3 is worth only 10$ less than the price they launched it at more than ten years ago. Seriously, 40$ for an 11 year old game? Fuck that. Get it on sale, that way you're at least paying what it's worth.
**A similar thing goes for Bethesda with oblivon/fallout 3. At least the prices of 20$ is at least somewhat reasonable considering you get the DLC included with that price
You cant play fallout 3 on modern-ish windows without fenagling with the game
I am no longer legitimately considering leaving this forum

I actually did it. I actually started up a proper game of CDDA for the first time in months. Trying out the prison break scenario that was added since then. Is...odd.

EDIT: Pbbbt. Random zed in the cafeteria dropped a toolbox. Since at some point they unfucked toolboxes, I can just play cat-and-mouse with the secu-bot and saw out the bars in my way.

EDIT 2: Eventually assembled a crude drag board and hauled ass outta there. And so far all I find is a...bandit camp. Aw hell.

True. Pissed me off to no end when I found out. but hey, you can still use "tale of two wastelands" without having to fernaggling anything. Sometimes if your lucky, FO3 will work without messing with it at all. Fairly rare though.

I always turn the item spawns down to 0.01, but even at 0.01 getting tools is not an issue because zambies. Also they did something to the game that makes that not seem to matter as much. I still get lots of item spawns. Tons of bandit/survivor camps too.

I have fond memories of the time I played a barbarian in winter, with item spawns at the minimum. I had to smash a science lab wall with my axe because it was the only source of a rock I could find, and thus my only way to make more essential tools. This was back before lab bunkers were made a lot harder to crack open.

I also have fond memories of the first time I played a medieval peasant, spawned RIGHT next to a bandit camp. If I hadn't set starting time to midnight to abuse Stats Through Skills, I would've been fucked royally.

Speaking of which, definitely think I'll see about waiting until night and raiding the bandit camp.

I was thinking about morrowind, specifically the mournhold expansion. One of the mainline quests in that expansion had you reassembling Nerevars scimitar. When it was complete, you brought it to almalexia and she would tell you that it was still missing it's enchantment and directed you to seek out a dwemer smith to restore the enchantment. When you finally found a dwemer (ghost) he fixes the sword but also complains, saying, "I swear, no one is happy with a simple blade that cleaves bone... always need the special effects." I love it. Legendary blade it was, but them sort of all powerful beings can't be happy without those special effects.

Not every magical weapon is forged of meteorite iron under an unusual planetary conjunction, inscribed with gilded runes of ancient power, and imbued with supernatural strength and sharpness through mystical rites and sorcerous incantations. In truth, many of the most powerful weapons of lore are possessed of far humbler beginnings -- common metal, torn from an enemy's grasp in a dire emergency. If the warrior survives the day, the weapon will likely be kept. Polished, sharpened, and re-sharpened, it will be carried from battle to battle, becoming as much a part of the man as his own arm, and as his name rises from warrior to hero to legend, so too will an aura of reverence and awe begin to surround the blade. Legend and belief are powerful forces, and it should be no surprise that a powerful artifact might have become powerful simply by dint of everyone believing it to be powerful. That is, after all, where the gods came from. -Kingdom of Loathing, 2012

I cleaned out the whole of the mead hall. Soldiers, courtiers, their law-giver, children...no. To the reptile man, these children were clearly kin of the old lord, and even of bandits. Even went through the trouble of interrogating a couple. To this adventurer, it isn't slaughter, it's merely a mercy to those that would otherwise grow up to be a part of the cycle of revenge.

The replacement lord, the true enemy, was not there. He must be in the hamlet proper. Coward, in time of war, hiding among commoners instead of awaiting the enemy at their stronghold, where he knows I'd look first.

EDIT: It seems he was prudent enough to bring at least one guard along. Protecting their people? Somehow I doubt that. More likely just to keep him safe, while leaving a token force at the mead hall. Indeed, there was only a single solder at the mead hall.

EDIT 2: Sweep through the town. Strangle every guard in my way. Impale any civilian brave enough to join the fight. Spare those that leave me be. And finally, I see the current ruler of the town, lingering in a random house. I'll see if I have any option to demand surrender or peace from him, but more like I'll have to kill him and all his soldiers.

If held with conviction, even a tree branch can become a legendary sword.
-something something, sword of mana

Anyways, darkest dungeon. I played it once or twice back in early access. As someone who never adjusted to the old mechanics, I don't see a problem with the current mechanics. Except, is the hunger prompt supposed to proc three times in the same hallway?

Fuck. I killed every single human in that hamlet. Turns out the closest to completing a "drive them out" quest is to claim it as lord. Even the, it generates an endless loop where you can get sent to drive the now-nonexistent group out, only to immediately be able to report it as done.

Does that lead to a never ending loop where you can claim limitless renown for doing the same task over an over again.
