Allan stands up, with a perplexed expression as he watches the stranger zip out of the engine room. Just as the door slides shut, he hears the captain's voice filter down from above. "Aye, cap'n." he says quietly, and strolls over to the other side of the room. He steps towards the controls, an arcane construction of bells, whistles, gauges, levers, buttons, and brass, all set into the side of the main engine body. He starts pumping one lever with his left hand while flicking a few switches with the other. Just as he was about to throw the throttle back, the stranger bursts in, and both he and the engine lurch.
"Crimeny, lad, you're runnin' 'round fas'er than a hare!" he says. He looks him over and then says, "Lad, why don' ya 'elp me 'ere and go make sure th' boiler tempurachur ain't goin' over two hun'red, eh? The valves are o'er there." He points to another set of controls on the other side of the room.
