Indeed it is sad.
If you like explosions, how about an exploding ointment tube?
My stepgrandfather died last monday, and I'm helping out my stedad and his mother get rid of papers. I was handed a shopping bag of medication and told to go burn it, under the understanding that there were no aerosol cans or containers under pressure inside the bag. What I didn't know was that inside one small box was an aluminum tube with an aluminum cap filled with what I assume was some kind of ointment. At some point, pressure built up inside the tube and violently forced the cap off the tube, spraying me with ash, molten plastic, and a not unpleasant smelling ointment. Also the cap hit me in the shin. The boom was surprisingly load for such a small thing. Upon returning to the now dead fire, I discovered that I'd got off lucky. Not only was the bag filled with more similar tubes, but it also contained no less than three small aerosol cans and seven old inhalers, all of which were swollen by the heat.
